TANISHA QUILTER-WILLIAMS
Tanisha Quilter-Williams graduated from California State University in 2007 as a Broadcast Journalism major. She went on to work at some of the top companies in Hollywood, ICM, WMA, Inside Edition, E! Entertainment and US Weekly, working in the trenches at some of Hollywood’s top companies has fostered her creativity and introduced her to experiences that allowed her to be successful in many areas. During her time at US Weekly, she played a major part in negotiating the Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin engagement story that ended up being the biggest cover story of the year.  
 
In 2013, Tanisha left the journalism world behind to pursue her passion for screenwriting. She went back to school to obtain her MFA in Creative Writing and hasn’t looked back. After years of pounding the pavement, in 2021 she turned her drama/comedy pilot “Forties AF,” about three forty-something single friends who pick up the pieces their thirties left behind into a drama fiction podcast. To-date, Forties AF has garnered more than 150,000 downloads with a minimal marketing ad budget. The podcast was chosen to participate in Gotham Pitch Week 2021 and was nominated as Best Fiction Podcast by the Podcast Awards-People’s Choice. She is currently working on Season 3 of Forties AF and creating a writer’s room to give other writers exposure.
 
In the summer of 2022, Tanisha wrote and produced “James,” a short film that was selected as a screener at the Pann African Film Festival in 2023. She was recently highlighted in Deadline for being chosen to participate as a mentee in the Black Boy Writes & Black Girl Writes Mentorship Initiative in 2023. In, 2023 she also wrote and released her first book, Got Scoop, for aspiring journalists that need tips on navigating their way into the journalism world. Tanisha is based in Los Angeles and hopes to inspire and encourage other creatives to continue to go for their dreams and aspirations at any age.
