Meet Tanisha Quilter-Williams

Tanisha Quilter-Williams brings a unique worldview shaped by a colorful background. From growing up as a “military brat,” to working in the trenches at some of Hollywood’s top companies, her eclectic experience has created a unique perspective and fostered her producing projects, as well as her multifaceted characters that come to life in her screenwriting. She enjoys writing dramedies about the female experience and the quest for self-discovery. Working at big agencies such as, ICM and WMA she continued to pursue her dream of writing working at entertainment companies Inside Edition, E! Entertainment and US Weekly. Her work as a senior entertainment reporter introduced her to experiences that landed her on the red carpet interviewing celebrities, such as, Oprah Winfrey, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Denzel Washington, and Kelsey Grammar.

During her time at US Weekly, she played a major part in bringing one of the biggest cover stories to US Weekly Magazine when she negotiated the Levi Johnston and Bristol

Palin engagement cover story In 2013, Tanisha left the journalism world behind to pursue her passion for screenwriting.

She eventually went back to school to obtain her MFA in Creative Writing and hasn’t looked back. Post-graduation, I had a lot of questions when it came to moving through the industry and it took some time but eventually I began to land opportunities, but, the struggle of moving through the rooms and spaces was overwhelming at times.

Over the years, she wrote down information and tips that were helpful to her in her journey as she naviagate through the jurnalism arena. Hence, she recently completed a self-help guide called, “Got Scoop?” Tips on Working and Landing a Job as a Celebrity Reporter.” In 2023, she picked up those notes and decided to self- publish them into a book to help students or aspiring reporters who are entering the industry with some valuable information that could propel their career to another level.

In addition to her new author endeavors, she has written and produced a fiction podcast drama called “Forties AF,” about three forty-something single friends who pick up the pieces their thirties left behind. To-date, Forties AF Season 1 and Season 2 collectively have received more than 130,000 downloads with very little marketing or ad budget. The podcast has been chosen to participate in Gotham Pitch Week 2021 and was nominated as BEST FICTION PODCAST by the Podcast Awards-People’s Choice in 2021.

So, throughout the years, I began to write down information and tips that helped me navigate in and around the journalism arena. Hence, this self-help guide was born.
